"LOS ANGELES- Breakout designer Lisa Higuchi launched her new collection in Los Angeles to a room full of fashion cravers. Compelled by her passion for sewing and her unique designs Lisa Higuchi started by making and selling her pieces on Etsy. As her passion grew so did her brand. Dedicated to launching her line in the right fashion Higuchi was excited to talk about her new line at the Tanroh Launch party.
We went [to] the L.A. Fashion District to speak to Lisa Higuchi about her beautifully minimalistic Tanroh line. “I designed this collection for the women in my life” says Higuchi about her new line Tanroh. All of the pieces are inspired by the women in her day to day life who embody the strength and character that this line upholds. Higuchi was born in America but tapped into her Japanese roots when designing the Tanroh line which she says “I didn’t realize how rooted I was in my Japanese culture.”
Her Kimono dress is a combination of her roots with a twist of the modern day American woman. Each piece of this line has a delicate “frame rather than an armor” and elegantly graces a style of Higuchi’s that she believes will be constantly evolving. As she is very aware of the different trends and styles and can appreciate everyone’s choice of style Higuchi says, “this line is more of an image to woman who are individuals and I can like and appreciate everyone’s different taste and style.”
The evolution of Higuchi’s style is just beginning and this designer has already started to make a beautiful footprint on the fashion world. With her many amazing hand made pieces Lisa has embodied many simplistically classy looks for women and will continue to do so with the Tanroh line.
Tanroh.com will be launching soon for you to purchase some of these pieces for yourself!
